About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Purchase products and provide order fulfillment activities in support of business demand
  • Manage order status, shipping and delivery information, PO backlog tracking, reporting and communication
  • Work with suppliers to meet delivery commitments and drive system and process improvements
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and provide quotes to the sales team
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics teams and transportation carriers to ensure timely receipt and delivery
  • Manage non-conforming inventory, product disposition and in-process failures
  • Communicate order status and problem resolution to planners, sales and customer operations
  • Assist with inventory aging and fill-rate management, including stock rotation and liquidations
  • Support organizational initiatives and supplier management projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline
  • Competence in all job functions and general understanding of industry practices, techniques and standards
  • Ability to develop solutions for a variety of situations and work on projects requiring evaluation and analysis
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and discretion
  • Ability to collaborate with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization
