About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Purchase products and provide order fulfillment activities in support of business demand
  • Manage order status processes and ensure shipping and delivery information is accurate in company systems
  • Complete post-Purchase Order updates, including backlog tracking, reporting, and communication with matrix team members
  • Work with suppliers to meet delivery commitments and manage supplier relationships
  • Drive system and process improvements with the company and suppliers
  • Negotiate supplier pricing and provide quotes to the sales team
  • Work with warehouse, logistics, and transportation carrier teams to ensure timely receipt and delivery
  • Manage non-conforming inventory, including product disposition and in-process failures
  • Communicate order status and problem resolution to planners, sales, and customer operations
  • Assist with inventory aging, fill rate, stock rotation, and liquidations
  • Support group and organizational initiatives and supplier management activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline
  • Competence in all job functions and general understanding of industry practices, techniques and standards
  • Ability to develop solutions for a variety of situations and work on projects requiring evaluation and analysis
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and discretion
  • Ability to collaborate with management and team members across departments and organizational areas
