About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Integrate the HCL Commerce application with required systems and services
Provide clean, easy-to-use APIs for the frontend
Take responsibility for application functionality, performance, and scalability
Work across the React Adapter layer connecting HCL Commerce to the headless frontend
Specialize in HCL Commerce and adapter technologies
Help steer technical direction during the migration to HCL Commerce v9 and cloud technologies
Develop headless services for the WebSphere Commerce and GraphQL-driven global website
Integrate APIs with legacy systems and work with databases

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8 years of experience with HCL Commerce
Demonstrable experience with the REST Client, Catalogue, Payments, and Member modules of WebSphere Commerce/HCL Commerce
Ideally, experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client/Server, and TypeScript programming
Ability to explain REST API design, caching, and refactoring considerations
Good knowledge of object-oriented paradigms, SOLID principles, and software design patterns
Knowledge of relational database systems, SQL, and query tuning/optimization, ideally in Oracle
Ideally, experience integrating with back-office systems such as ERP, CRM, or BI
Experience with performance tuning of large-scale web applications beneficial
Strong unit, integration, and API testing knowledge
Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as code, and provisioning tools is a bonus
