About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement product stewardship and regulatory policies, procedures, processes, and initiatives across the region
  • Monitor regional regulatory activities and assess new regulations that may impact Axalta
  • Provide guidance on new standards, legislation, and business impacts
  • Develop product registration strategies for new product introduction with global and regional teams
  • Ensure compliance with regional and local regulations covering hazard communication, substance registrations, reporting, and related requirements
  • Respond to customer-driven product stewardship needs and support regional operations
  • Represent Axalta in regional industry associations and government agencies
  • Provide functional and program guidance, training, and development for regional PS&R staff
  • Investigate and report product stewardship incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures
  • Develop and track leading and lagging performance indicators
  • Identify and implement best practices, efficient tools, standardized practices, and processes
  • Ensure information systems and tools support product and global chemical data management and reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Engineering)
  • 10-15 years of work experience in a regulatory or product stewardship program function
  • 5-10 years of work experience in the coatings and/or similar specialty chemicals industry
  • 5-10 years of prior direct and indirect managerial responsibilities
  • Experience with product management and product development processes
  • Proven ability to think strategically and complete strategic assessments of regulatory, business, and market trends
  • Demonstrated ability to improve work processes and manage change through effective communication and persuasion
  • Experience assessing and interpreting complex regulatory and market drivers
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively through all levels of an organization
  • Ability to develop and deploy effective communication strategies and lead, motivate, and participate in diverse, cross-geographic teams
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable EMEA regulatory requirements, including REACH
  • Effective change management skills and ability to lead positive organizational change
  • Relationship management and networking skills
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts
  • Experience working with cross-functional, multicultural, and virtual teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
