About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the full customer relationship for assigned markets, agencies, or institutions, including political, technical, and industrial stakeholders
  • Build and maintain rigorous account plans covering the account thesis, market attractiveness, stakeholder and power mapping, competitive landscape, and path to close
  • Identify, qualify, and advance human spaceflight, station access, research and payload services, and related opportunities
  • Develop and execute customer contact and market-wide influence plans
  • Lead negotiation of commercial agreements, MOUs, letters of intent, and sole-source arrangements with Legal, Finance, and Trade Compliance
  • Track political and budget cycles and time asks before key decisions and budgets are locked
  • Represent Axiom Space at bilateral meetings, ministerial engagements, conferences, and delegations within the assigned region
  • Partner with Engineering, Program, Government Relations, Science, Legal, and Finance to shape and mature opportunities
  • Ensure international activity complies with ITAR/EAR, FCPA, and related regulatory requirements
  • Provide pipeline forecasts, account status, and market intelligence to Revenue leadership
  • Report directly to the Vice President of Revenue
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business, international relations, engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, account management, capture, or government relations
  • Meaningful experience in international markets within aerospace, defense, or a similarly complex, government-driven industry
  • Ability to independently own an account or territory and build relationships and the internal case needed to close a deal
  • Proven record of advancing and closing negotiated agreements with government, sovereign, or institutional customers
  • Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships across cultures and senior levels
  • Working knowledge of export control and international business compliance requirements
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30–50%
  • Ability to meet ITAR requirements applicable to the assigned portfolio and region; U.S. person status may be required for certain accounts
  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Established network within international space agencies, ministries, or the aerospace industry preferred
  • Experience with human spaceflight, space station, or space infrastructure programs preferred
  • Experience structuring public-private partnerships, financing arrangements, or industrial participation agreements preferred
  • Proficiency in one or more languages relevant to the assigned region preferred
  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results
  • Strong agility and adaptability to integrate quickly into a small team
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical milestones
