About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support sales growth initiatives across the territory
  • Work closely with Axis Regional Sales Managers to support pre- and post-sales opportunities, including critical projects
  • Provide all aspects of pre- and post-sales support for opportunities requiring FSE involvement
  • Execute high-level system designs, including site surveys, camera placement, field-of-view calculations, pixels-on-target, bandwidth and storage calculations, BOM construction, schematic drawings, and third-party product recommendations and integration
  • Collaborate across multiple internal and external departments to meet expectations and performance goals
  • Construct and deliver technology and customer-specific training
  • Support and maintain an Axis Experience Center
  • Attend and represent Axis at industry trade shows and events
  • Act as backup to other Axis sales engineers
  • Travel regionally and internationally as required
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks, and travel priorities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidate must be in or near NYC
  • 4+ years’ experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role, ideally in network video and/or physical security markets
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Information Systems, or at least 10 years of related industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of physical security and IT markets
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches, VPNs, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of video transport protocols and compression technologies
  • Strong knowledge of image quality and photography principles
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experienced design documentation skills (schematics, flow charts, topologies, metrics, FOV, pixels on target, angles, etc.)
  • Professional communication skills (Listening, Written, Verbal)
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Proven record of excellent time management and multitasking ability
  • Ability to convey complex technologies and specifications easily
  • Positive customer-centric attitude
  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders or lifts for an extended period
  • Ability to work at heights, including ceilings, ladders, and rooftops
  • Axis Certified Professional preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%
