About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contact and call on existing and potential customers in the assigned geographical territory to sell and service products and services
  • Manage time effectively to call on potential customers and buying accounts
  • Identify and exploit profitable sales opportunities
  • Prioritize and sell profitable products while disengaging from offerings outside company objectives
  • Respond to and follow up on customer needs
  • Develop product knowledge by studying product data sheets
  • Act as a customer problem solver
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key account personnel
  • Provide written sales-call reports covering new or lost business, pricing changes, usage rates, and competitive strategies
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales on goals, targets, and sales strategies
  • Establish focus target accounts for suppliers
  • Schedule and conduct joint sales calls with supplier personnel
  • Monitor sales leads from associates, publications, newspapers, verbal referrals, and other sources
  • Recommend account pricing, maintain pricing logs, and submit non-standard pricing proposals for approval
  • Manage administrative responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support goals to improve customer satisfaction, reduce rework, and improve profitability
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with company associates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (chemistry preferred) from an accredited four-year college/university
  • 5 or more years field sales experience
  • Lubricant and Metalworking industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member
  • High moral and business ethics orientation
