About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assure continuous operation of the liquid choline plant and associated site equipment through shift operator duties and teamwork
Maintain accurate logs and readings
Provide first response to emergency situations as a member of the HAZMAT team
Participate on the plant firefighting team
Follow safety and environmental policies and procedures
Perform plant preventive maintenance and minor maintenance work
Assist during plant shutdowns
Maintain the assigned operating area in a clean and neat manner
Work on special projects to improve plant operations
Respond to visual and audible alarms
Monitor and adjust flow rates of reactants, steam and water in the Choline Chloride process
Unload raw materials and load finished products onto railcars or tank trucks
Test and adjust pH of immediate and finished product
Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment system
Train new employees on various shift responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Manufacturing and forklift experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalency
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to wear required PPE and safety equipment
Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, pushing and pulling
Ability to work assigned shift hours
Ability to respond to emergency situations as a member of the HAZMAT team
Ability to work safely around hazardous materials, corrosives, heat and industrial equipment
