About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collect samples for analysis and distribute them appropriately
- Perform chemical and physical analyses, including flavor checks, on products, ingredients, and control samples
- Understand analysis concepts, anticipate results, and follow up on deviations
- Record product analyses according to laboratory protocols, including computer data entry
- Communicate critical information regarding analyses, procedures, and test results
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and materials; clean the lab area at the end of each shift
- Follow laboratory and plant GMP and safety procedures
- Provide written reports when requested by the Quality Assurance Manager or QA Leader
- Collect and distribute product and ingredient samples
- Collect environmental samples
- Maintain insect lights and pest boxes
- Cover laboratory responsibilities during the QA Leader's absence
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- After completion of four weeks training, must be able to perform all procedures accurately, precisely, and efficiently
- Required to have attended Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training and follow all mandates
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Ability to work independently, organize tasks, and manage the workload
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Must be able to work on their feet for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry large boxes full of samples up several flights of stairs and throughout the plant
- Ability to work in noisy, wet, slippery, and hot plant conditions
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals
- Availability to work hours as needed, including off shifts and weekends/holidays
