About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform administrative tasks supporting the care team in providing direct medical care
- Answer patient calls for primary care providers and specialty clinics
- Support patients with medication refills
- Send patient messages and referrals
- Process imaging orders
- Review charts to ensure coordinated patient care
- Identify care gaps using evidence-based guidelines and standing orders
- Use the EHR to obtain medical information for patient and care-team communications
- Address preventative care, chronic care, medications, high-risk patients, and patients not recently seen
- Collaborate with the care team to meet performance metrics and clinical quality measures
- Identify improvement areas based on clinical performance results
- Maintain clinical skills and provide direct patient care as needed
- Complete onboarding, orientation, simulation training, and Annual Clinical Education Days as directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be located in Northern Colorado
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
- Medical Assistant Certification required; if not held at hire, must obtain within 12 months of hire
- BLS certification required
- Strong computer skills, including medical software
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively and in an organized fashion
- Reliable internet with Ethernet connection only; Wi-Fi is not permitted
- Quiet work area/home office
- Experience with office medical procedures and treatments preferred
- Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
