About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform prescribed specialized radiographic procedures according to department and facility policies, procedures, and protocols
- Perform radiographic diagnostic and interventional special procedures while verifying referring providers’ orders
- Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments
- Produce high-quality images and prepare them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation
- Perform prescribed invasive/interventional procedures when applicable
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and other approved medications
- Perform and evaluate equipment quality-control measurements
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and notify appropriate personnel
- Maintain a safe environment and follow radiation-safety policies
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities
- Ensure efficient departmental workflow
- Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and inventory
- Collaborate with medical imaging, nursing, medical staff, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, regulatory agencies, patients, and families
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recent graduate or less than 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), or equivalent experience
- Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (RT) as required by state law
- Licensure and/or certification(s) as required by state regulatory agency, if applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification where applicable
- Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Basic understanding of Cath Lab procedures and protocols
- Effective communication and human relations skills
- Ability to analyze data and solve problems
