About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership, direction, and administration of financial activities, including accounting, financial systems and control, compliance, financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting
- Participate in and/or lead system-level work involving service lines, revenue integrity, and discipline teams
- Oversee financial decision-making and serve as a member of the facility/entity senior leadership team
- Drive, support, and model a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and patient experience
- Lead achievement of financial and operational performance objectives, including revenue growth, operational margin targets, expense management, and efficiency
- Evaluate growth and operational initiatives, strategic programs and service lines, capital acquisition, campus planning, expansion, and technology investments
- Mentor finance staff and increase financial understanding throughout the facility
- Supervise, guide, develop, and provide growth opportunities for staff
- Drive process improvements in care delivery and operational models to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety
- Promote technology adoption to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes
- Foster collaboration in a highly matrixed team environment and promote service excellence
- Advise facility/entity operations and oversee strategic development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical and operational services and programs
- Lead workforce initiatives and influence change at facility, regional, and system levels
- Ensure the facility’s overall financial and operational performance, compliance, and viability
- Develop short- and long-term business strategies and deploy effective resource utilization
- Coordinate services with administrators, internal legal counsel, executives, staff, medical staff, regulatory agencies, and the community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or another related field
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business and financial healthcare
- Strong knowledge and understanding of financial operations
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and values
- Ability to provide leadership with a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations
- Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions in partnership with facility and system leaders
- Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Master’s Degree and prior CFO experience in an integrated delivery system or medical center preferred
- Membership in industry organizations or other networking credentials preferred
- Additional related healthcare finance education and/or experience preferred
