About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and maintain positive relationships with external audiences
- Collaborate with the Banner team to support stakeholder engagement efforts, community events, media outreach and opportunities that enhance Banner’s profile, drive relevance and build community trust
- Write and edit stories for CEO bi-weekly and physician executive monthly newsletters
- Support website content, collateral materials, scripts, talking points, media materials, press releases, messaging and executive briefs
- Source and edit visual assets, including graphics and photography
- Support senior specialists, managers and directors with storytelling and stakeholder engagement needs
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the external communication strategy
- Lead local and state media engagement efforts and pitch media to build Banner’s community profile
- Support national media and trade media outreach
- Coordinate meetings and administrative tasks, including ordering promotional material and aligning with agencies and internal stakeholders
- Assist with KPI tracking, internal dashboards and measurement of team activities
- Lead special projects or initiative teams requiring external communications support
- Support emergency communications, issues management, social listening and media monitoring
- Evaluate technology requirements and perform technical troubleshooting for complex digital projects
- Provide guidance to the Visual Designer and outsourced creative vendors on brand standards, project objectives and timelines
- Work with internal clients and stakeholders to ensure projects meet objectives and expectations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing or related field
- Two to four years’ experience in public relations, communications, and/or marketing
- Strong knowledge of public relations
- Effective organizational skills
- Experience in media outreach, creative writing, public relations writing and strong editing
- Sensitivity to public perceptions and their implications/interpretation
- Effective human relations and communications skills
- Proficiency in photography, photo editing, and basic graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud
- Background in business communications, journalism, or professional writing
- Working knowledge of major trends in healthcare preferred
- Knowledge and experience with nonprofit marketing communications preferred
