About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Telehealth and Banner Medical Group Finance teams
  • Manage financial reporting for the Banner Medical Group division
  • Prepare annual budgets for assigned entities
  • Perform monthly variance analysis and trend analysis
  • Process incentive payments
  • Provide analytical support for financial positioning and future growth of assigned areas/regions
  • Develop, analyze, and prepare financial plans, reports, and key performance indicators
  • Gather and challenge assumptions, develop financial pro formas, and assist with business plan preparation and presentations
  • Lead operating budgets, forecasting, program reporting and analysis, charge management, cost accounting, decision support, contracting, and reimbursement analysis
  • Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and provide related assistance, coordination, and education
  • Identify and implement operating improvements and efficiencies based on trends and variances
  • Provide strategic financial guidance based on analysis of multiple data elements
  • Coordinate implementation and support for financial-systems software products
  • Develop and present financial indicators and education programs
  • Prepare management and regulatory reports and assist in developing performance measures
  • Provide regional financial analysis support for multiple Banner facilities
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, Information Services, Benefits, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure timely and accurate reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in financial management
  • Previous experience within a physician/medical group or health care system setting
  • Knowledge of medical professional billing, including CPT codes, wRVUs, and billing systems and processes
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience in physician compensation, finance, or accounting
  • Proficiency in sophisticated software programs
  • Proven advanced analytical and modeling skills
  • Operational skills and knowledge in healthcare
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and outside professionals at all levels
  • Strong leadership and confidence
  • Ability to manage stress and prioritize assignments with shifting deadlines
  • Ability to read and understand technical pronouncements, identify compliance issues, and make independent decisions
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information to physicians, HR, finance, legal, and operations
  • Must live in Phoenix
