About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform high-quality breast imaging procedures to screen for and diagnose breast cancer
  • Prepare patients and ensure proper positioning and compression techniques
  • Follow established protocols and maintain patient safety standards
  • Verify referring provider orders using independent judgment
  • Evaluate image quality and prepare comprehensive documentation for timely interpretation
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures or treatments
  • Perform prescribed procedures in accordance with department and facility policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Perform invasive/interventional procedures if applicable
  • Perform equipment quality control measurements and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical, legal, and professional radiology responsibilities
  • Maintain department workflow and adequate supplies inventory
  • Collaborate with medical imaging, nursing, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable
  • Advance certification by accrediting body in Mammography required within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification required
  • Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment
  • Drug screen required
  • Background check required, including employment, criminal, and education checks
  • Must work at least 2 shifts a month
  • CDL preferred for roles supporting mobile medical unit
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
