About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Room patients and take vital signs
  • Assist with examinations and minor in-office procedures
  • Perform phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs
  • Update and maintain electronic medical records accurately and promptly
  • Answer phones and check in patients
  • Schedule appointments and follow up on referrals
  • Order supplies and stock rooms and patient care areas
  • Coordinate pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, tests, and treatments
  • Communicate test results to patients
  • Provide clerical support, documentation, and billing information
  • Clean and disinfect equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs
  • Support clinicians, nursing staff, providers, patients, families, and external healthcare contacts
  • Complete required onboarding, orientation, and simulation training
  • Travel between 755 E. McDowell, Phoenix and Arcadia, 4200 E. Camelback, Phoenix

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification is required
  • Certification or additional training must meet Meaningful Use requirements
  • BLS certification required
  • Active certification such as RMA with current AMT membership, CMA with current AAMA membership, CCMA with current NHA membership, or NCMA with current NCCT membership
  • Strong computer skills, including ability to work with medical software
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively and in an organized fashion
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit required at hire for applicable behavioral health clinical settings serving children
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
