About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect and receive biological specimens into the department
  • Properly enter specimens into the company computer system
  • Prepare samples for analytical testing
  • Distribute specimens to the proper analytical area
  • Perform pre- and post-analytical testing activities
  • Perform specified analytical testing as assigned
  • Follow the Code of Conduct
  • Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards
  • Provide coverage at multiple locations as needed, including hospitals, patient service centers, in-office phlebotomy, and mobile diagnostic services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum age requirement of 18
  • High School diploma or equivalent may be required dependent on state regulatory requirements
  • Basic knowledge of department resource materials
  • Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience
  • Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations
  • May require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification
  • Valid state driver's license in the state of employment may be required, depending on department/location
  • Eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy, if a driver's license is required
  • Float positions require travel and flexible hours to work at multiple locations and mobile/in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice
  • Flexibility and availability based on staffing requirements, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • May be required to work occasional on-call duties on weekends, evenings, and early mornings
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
