About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in a variety of outpatient settings in Southern Arizona
- Provide patient-focused phlebotomy services for patients of all ages
- Collect and receive biological specimens
- Properly enter specimens into the company computer system
- Prepare samples for analytical testing
- Distribute specimens to the proper analytical area
- Perform pre- and post-analytical testing activities
- Perform specified analytical testing as assigned
- Follow the Code of Conduct and established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards
- Provide coverage at multiple locations as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum age requirement of 18
- High School diploma or equivalent may be required dependent on state regulatory requirements
- Basic knowledge of department resource materials
- Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations
- Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification
- Valid state driver's license in the state of employment and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy may be required depending on department/location
- Float positions require travel and flexible hours to work multiple locations and mobile/in-office phlebotomy facilities with minimal notice
- Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- May be required to work occasional on-call duties weekends, evenings, and early AM
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
