About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in doctor's offices, outpatient settings, float assignments, and/or flexible scheduling throughout the valley
- Provide coverage at multiple locations, including hospital facilities, Patient Service Centers, In Office Phlebotomy, and Mobile Diagnostic Services
- Collect and receive biological specimens
- Properly enter specimens into the company computer system
- Prepare samples for analytical testing
- Distribute specimens to the proper analytical area
- Perform pre- and post-analytical testing activities
- Perform specified analytical testing as assigned
- Follow the Code of Conduct
- Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum age requirement of 18
- High School diploma or equivalent may be required dependent on state regulatory requirements
- Basic knowledge of department resource materials
- Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations
- Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification
- Dependent on department/location, valid state driver's license in the state of employment and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy
- Float positions require travel and flexible hours to work multiple locations and cover mobile/in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice
- Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, weekends, holidays and overtime
- May be required to work occasional on-call duties weekends, evenings and early AM
- Progression through career ladder II-IV is subject to completion of career ladder requirements
- Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology
- Preferred: Additional related education and/or experience
