About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients
  • Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
  • Review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers
  • Formulate, initiate, review, and revise individualized plans of care and discharge plans
  • Provide direct patient care and coordinate, delegate, and supervise healthcare team activities
  • Provide care according to physician orders, nursing plans, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching and revise care plans as needed
  • Document assessments, interventions, evaluations, patient responses, and physician orders accurately and timely
  • Support multiple hospital units, including Progressive Care, Med/Surg, and Outpatient Observation
  • Participate in research, shared leadership, education, orientation, precepting, mentoring, and quality improvement activities
  • Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, external healthcare contacts, community providers, agencies, and clergy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in the state of practice, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice
  • BLS certification required
  • Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the work area through annual validations
  • Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired
  • Ability to relate the experience, training, and education needed to perform the job throughout the interview process
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
