About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care for patients
- Perform wound care consults and treatment in a Level I Trauma Facility
- Assess patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs
- Review patient history, diagnostics and laboratory data; report abnormal results
- Formulate and revise patient-specific plans of care and discharge plans
- Provide direct patient care and coordinate, delegate and supervise healthcare team activities
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses and physician orders
- Provide evidence-based care and participate in research and shared leadership activities
- Educate, orient, precept and mentor personnel, patients, students, families and visitors
- Teach wound care classes to bedside nurses
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, clergy, families and external contacts
- May supervise department staff and workflow
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
- BLS certification required
- Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
- Experience, training and education needed to perform the job
- Clinical experience in the area of application desired
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Professional certification preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
