About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
  • Review patient histories, diagnostics, laboratory data, and abnormal results
  • Formulate, initiate, review, and revise individualized plans of care and discharge plans
  • Provide direct patient care and coordinate, delegate, and supervise healthcare team activities
  • Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching
  • Document assessments, care plans, interventions, evaluations, patient responses, and physician orders
  • Provide evidence-based care and participate in research activities when applicable
  • Participate in shared leadership, education, orientation, precepting, and mentoring
  • Contribute to nursing quality indicators and patient outcomes
  • Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, community providers, agencies, and clergy
  • Support skin cancer and skin disease care rather than cosmetic procedures
  • Make patient phone calls for pathology results and respond to patient messages
  • Process prior authorizations for medications and procedures
  • Obtain slides from outside pathology
  • Work with providers in clinic
  • Perform nurse visit appointments
  • Order labs and imaging
  • Travel once weekly with the provider to BUMG Health Center North

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice
  • BLS certification required
  • Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area through annual validations
  • Clinical area experience desired
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
  • Must be able to perform nursing assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
  • Must be able to work with patients, families, physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and external healthcare contacts
