About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform prescribed specialized radiographic procedures as directed according to department and facility policies, procedures and protocols
  • Perform radiographic diagnostic and interventional special procedures while verifying referring providers’ orders
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments
  • Produce high-quality images and prepare patient information for timely interpretation
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation
  • Perform prescribed invasive/interventional procedures when applicable
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and other approved medications when applicable
  • Perform and evaluate equipment quality-control measurements
  • Troubleshoot equipment and notify appropriate personnel to maintain performance
  • Maintain a safe environment and adhere to radiation-safety policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical, legal, and professional radiology responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient departmental workflow
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and materials inventory
  • Collaborate with medical imaging, nursing, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, regulatory and health agencies, patients, and families

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Licensure by state regulatory agency if applicable
  • Advanced certification by accrediting body in specialty required if applicable within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification
  • Clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Human relations skills
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems
  • Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check is required
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday with scheduled coverage from 8AM-5PM and on-call coverage Monday-Friday 5PM-8AM, Saturday and Sunday 8AM-8AM
