About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise day-to-day activities of non-physician staff and monitor productivity
- Monitor medical group operations and recommend procedural changes
- Select, train, coach, motivate, evaluate, and direct staff workflow
- Schedule non-physician staff and deploy them appropriately among offices
- Oversee reception, scheduling, patient services, accounting, medical records, transcription, business information systems, and appropriate clinical areas
- Liaise between non-physician staff and physicians to ensure effective patient service
- Maintain effective working relationships with group physicians
- Serve as a role model and resource for quality patient care and patient information
- Maintain office policies and procedures in accordance with physician, facility, system, professional, and regulatory requirements
- Determine facility maintenance, equipment, repair, and supply needs and coordinate resources
- Resolve day-to-day facility problems and ensure areas are stocked
- Cover front- and/or back-office functions
- Administer medications when permitted by policies, demonstrated competencies, and state scope of practice
- Provide autonomous guidance for quality patient experiences and efficient practice operations
- Navigate referral and authorization processes and multiple computer programs while handling competing demands
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s Degree-level literacy, communication, and math skills
- At least two years of experience in a physician's office or medical environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Certain assignments may require current certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or current LPN license
- Employees working in specified behavioral health clinical settings serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it during employment
- An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire for applicable behavioral health settings
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in a leadership or coordinator capacity preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
