About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain control system software for industrial machinery.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot control algorithms and machine-based software systems.
- Develop and maintain programs supporting machine operation, data collection, diagnostics, and communication with peripheral equipment.
- Collaborate with sales, service, and engineering teams to define technical and functional specifications.
- Support machine checkout, installation, and commissioning through control system software documentation and assistance.
- Interface directly with customers to resolve software-related issues and ensure systems meet expectations.
- Produce and update operation manuals, diagnostic guides, and technical documentation.
- Stay current with evolving control system architectures and technology trends.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel internationally as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls development; manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, B&R).
- Experience with assembly-level languages, Visual C++, and other high-level programming languages is a plus.
- HMI application programming knowledge is a plus.
- Strong understanding of control theory and its application.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
