About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support capital projects and implement solutions for clients individually and in teams
  • Design panels, planview drawings, BIM models, and related materials for industrial facilities with licensed engineers and experienced designers
  • Train and mentor less experienced professionals in client and industry standards and best practices
  • Manage a team of designers throughout project execution
  • Develop IO wire pull schedules and perform conduit, wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and cable tray sizing calculations
  • Develop network cable pull schedules
  • Create construction drawings for I&C deliverables, including P&IDs, panel drawings, standard installation details, schematics, connection diagrams, and plans
  • Interpret and apply industry codes and standards, including hazardous area classification for electrical equipment
  • Develop specifications and review vendor submittals
  • Occasionally provide on-site assessment, construction support, and start-up support
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across multiple offices
  • Strengthen client and team relationships through day-to-day technical expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Strong user experience with Revit
  • Experience executing projects for industrial facilities with a focus on quality, cost effectiveness, and safety
  • Knowledge of ISA standards, NEC, NFPA, and UL508A
  • Technical competency in instrumentation, control systems, and panel design
  • Proficiency in wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, cable tray sizing, and fill calculations
  • Expertise in design criteria and specifications for I&C equipment
  • Skills in instrument selection and creating datasheets, IO lists, cable schedules, and instrument and valve indexes
  • Expertise in wiring and conduit drawings using AutoCAD and 3D modeling in Revit
  • Ability to assist in developing construction drawings and reviewing work packages
  • Understanding of digital communication protocols, communication cable types, and cross-communication methods between systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Revu Bluebeam proficiency
  • Willingness to travel for project requirements, installation and start-up activities, meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions
  • A two-year degree with relevant experience
