About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary client-facing point of accountability for DevOps and platform delivery across engagements
- Lead conversations on platform scope, sequencing, dependencies, risk, and delivery expectations
- Translate client requirements into sequenced DevOps delivery plans
- Manage delivery expectations, schedule changes, scope changes, and escalations
- Run delivery status reviews, readiness checkpoints, and go-live coordination
- Sequence platform work around change-control constraints, deployment windows, change freezes, and production restart approvals
- Represent the DevOps team at kickoff, design review, commissioning, and startup milestones
- Coordinate hand-off to Day-2 operations
- Own DevOps intake, triage, prioritization, backlog, and delivery cadence
- Track engineer workload, delivery metrics, throughput, cycle time, commitment reliability, escaped defects, and client satisfaction
- Partner with Project Managers and Engineering Managers to integrate DevOps scope into broader project plans
- Improve intake templates, backlog hygiene, estimation, runbooks, hand-off documentation, on-call coverage, and sprint metrics
- Partner on capacity forecasting and staffing implications
- Support business development through scoping, estimating, and proposals
- Identify change orders and commercial impacts of scope adjustments
- Track hours against budget, burn rate, and margin risk
- Partner on architecture decisions affecting feasibility, sequencing, and cost
- Act as a positive role model of the firm's culture and Guiding Principles of Leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in technical delivery, platform engineering, DevOps, or engineering project leadership
- Minimum of 3 years owning delivery accountability for a technical team, as a delivery manager, technical program manager, scrum master, or equivalent
- Technical depth in Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerized industrial platforms, bare-metal clusters, distributed storage, and site networking
- Experience with GitHub project boards, fourteen-day sprints, planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, delivery metrics, change orders, and financial health
- Ability to support business development through scoping, estimating, and proposal input
- Ability to work with client IT, OT, operations, Project Managers, Engineering Managers, DevOps Engineering Manager, Practice Co-Leads, and Principal DevOps Engineer
