About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the full onboarding experience for every new hire, from offer signature through Day 1
- Communicate with new hires and track completion of background checks, Form I-9s, HRIS profiles, and other onboarding tasks
- Coordinate travel logistics and partner with the Global Mobility Manager on immigration matters affecting start dates
- Support Day 1 and San Francisco week-one onboarding, including manager and buddy coordination, room booking, and start-location coordination
- Partner with IT and Workplace to ensure new hires have access, equipment, and desks on Day 1
- Manage onboarding-platform logistics and the day-to-day vendor relationship
- Support additional employee-lifecycle moments such as job changes and location moves
- Identify improvements through automation and process fixes
- Handle sensitive employee information with discretion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-4 years in a high-volume coordination or operations role; People function preferred
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with a tactical, get-it-done approach
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity
- Extremely clear written communicator
- Based in San Francisco and able to work in the office 3+ days per week
- Comfortable presenting to groups and facilitating engaging onboarding sessions as needed
- Experience incorporating AI tools, such as Claude, into workflows, with a mindset toward automation and systems integration
- Experience working with recruiting, HRIS, onboarding platforms, and related People systems
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including formulas and organizing complex data
- Experience at a fast-growing startup
