About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Integrate search or developer-tools providers into Baseten so agents can call services during inference
Implement consistent authentication, execution, failure handling, observability, and usage reporting
Integrate Baseten with hyperscalers, cloud marketplaces, or developer platforms
Enable customers to discover models, provision access, and run inference through partner products
Build infrastructure for launching model-lab models on Baseten, including access controls, usage attribution, metering, and revenue-sharing support
Identify common integration primitives and turn them into reusable partner-platform capabilities
Lead strategic partner integrations from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, launch, and production operation
Work with partner engineering teams to design APIs, define system boundaries, resolve dependencies, and make architectural decisions
Write substantial production code and own built systems
Build reusable capabilities across identity, provisioning, inference, model serving, metering, and billing
Own technical delivery across Baseten and partner teams, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs
Collaborate with Partnerships and Product to translate ecosystem opportunities into platform investments
Improve integration reliability through API contracts, testing, observability, safe rollouts, and failure handling
Help define Partner Engineering as the team and ecosystem grow

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience designing, shipping, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
Ability to explain architectural choices and how they meet customers' needs at scale
Record of leading ambiguous engineering projects across teams while contributing substantial production code
Sound judgment about API design, service boundaries, and failure handling
Experience building systems that uphold API contracts and meet measurable service-level objectives
Experience turning requests from customers, partners, or engineering teams into defined technical scope
Ability to explain constraints, propose alternatives, and document decisions
Comfort working across application code and cloud infrastructure
Ability to debug behavior that crosses service boundaries
Product integrations with cloud providers, developer platforms, or infrastructure companies (nice to have)
Usage metering, marketplace infrastructure, or multi-party commerce systems (nice to have)
Model serving or production AI infrastructure (nice to have)
