About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, develop, communicate, and document accurate, balanced, and timely responses to unsolicited medical, clinical, and scientific inquiries
  • Handle escalated and off-label inquiries in accordance with applicable requirements and company policy
  • Lead significant Medical Affairs initiatives, special projects, and complex workstreams from strategy through execution and evaluation
  • Assess operational gaps and implement solutions to improve Medical Information processes and communication services
  • Develop and maintain standard response documents, FAQs, scientific slide decks, clinical summaries, medical content, bibliographies, and approved scientific resources
  • Conduct structured literature searches and critically evaluate medical literature, clinical guidelines, product information, and scientific data
  • Lead scientific response strategy and other significant Medical Information initiatives
  • Review promotional and non-promotional materials for scientific accuracy, substantiation, balance, clinical relevance, labeling consistency, and compliance
  • Identify and communicate voice-of-customer trends, evidence gaps, clinical practice developments, and emerging literature
  • Develop and deliver internal and external scientific education and training
  • Provide clinical and scientific input to Regulatory, Quality, Patient Safety, R&D, Marketing, Commercial, and other functions
  • Support product complaints, safety questions, product launches, congresses, scientific booths, and other Medical Affairs initiatives
  • Perform additional duties consistent with the role and organizational priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical, scientific, or healthcare discipline required
  • Substantial progressively responsible relevant experience demonstrating advanced proficiency in Medical Information and broader Medical Affairs
  • Significant depth and years of applicable experience, including independent ownership and successful delivery of complex initiatives or special projects
  • Excellent medical and scientific writing, oral communication, and literature-search skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex evidence into accurate, balanced, and audience-appropriate scientific responses
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to evaluate study design, data quality, clinical relevance, limitations, and strength of supporting evidence
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to medical communications, unsolicited requests, scientific exchange, promotional review, and approved product information
  • Excellent presentation, teaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Medical Affairs pillars and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage conflict and competing priorities in a changing environment
  • Advanced functional expertise, strategic judgment, and organizational acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results without formal authority
