About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply UX design principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria to develop new or enhanced software products or processes
  • Plan, implement, and functionally direct important UX assignments requiring independent judgment
  • Create user-friendly interface designs according to Baxter, W3C, Google Material Design, Apple Human Interface, and Android design guidelines
  • Participate in customer interviews, interactions, and user research to identify customer needs and wants
  • Create UI prototypes for testing or marketing purposes
  • Participate in usability research by creating test plans and scripts, moderating usability tests, and writing final reports
  • Document user experience designs and specifications
  • Provide UX and design input to cross-functional teams
  • Recommend product and process improvements based on UX expertise
  • Act independently with minimal supervision
  • Apply project team engineering methodologies and tools to manage work and communicate across teams and specialties
  • Create and execute a design language system in Figma

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors in Human Factors or related field, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel to Baxter and/or customer sites
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements
  • Solid understanding of UX design principles
  • Experience using UI design and prototyping tools
  • Advanced Figma skills, including creating and using components, variables, auto-layout, and themes
  • Passion for improving user experiences and ability to advocate for the user and UX standard processes
  • Ability to explain and document UI designs and decisions verbally and in writing
  • Experience with medical device or other regulated fields preferred
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
