About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with external customers in the Managed Care channel for the Northeast US region
  • Achieve and maintain medical coverage policies, garner access, obtain in-network contracts, and monitor market trends for clinical diagnostic laboratory genetic/genomic tests
  • Build strong business relationships in complex organizations
  • Achieve desired access and coverage decisions for BG tests by identifying, understanding, and addressing customer needs
  • Meet or exceed account objectives for BG’s Northeast and Gulf regions
  • Grow the existing customer managed care book of business and increase clients with in-network contracts
  • Develop, evaluate, and propose strategic initiatives with cross-functional BG teams
  • Develop account-specific strategies and tactical plans aligned with business and customer goals
  • Provide external insights to inform BG’s test access strategy
  • Develop short-term and long-term strategic account plans for assigned accounts
  • Present BG-approved data and value messages compliantly with governing policies
  • Build and develop professional relationships with key customer decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Lead contract delivery, business reviews, and performance tracking with the internal market access team
  • Conduct routine business reviews and inform internal stakeholders of relevant account updates
  • Uphold company mission and values, ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines, and adhere to the Code of Conduct
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8+ years of direct experience with U.S. payer accounts
  • Proven past performance that has met or exceeded expectations
  • Previous experience with various health plans
  • Preferably experience with independent physician/practice associations (IPAs)
  • Demonstrated success working with coverage policies and closing contracts
  • Reimbursement/managed care experience
  • Experience with NGS, molecular diagnostics, or genetics is a plus
  • Biopharma account management experience is welcome
  • Knowledge of the payer payment system in the U.S.
  • Ability to manage projects and work cross-functionally with field teams and home office team members
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively on complex clinical and economic matters to payers and other customers
  • Clear commercial focus for influencing and negotiating with payer stakeholders across testing and disease areas
  • Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills
