About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provision routine hardware service and remote diagnostic activities under close supervision
  • Achieve contract service levels with contracted clients
  • Maintain the configuration management system, including the CMDB
  • Operate and control installed hardware and software
  • Execute tasks and procedures according to agreed service levels and requirements
  • Follow plans and instructions to install or remove hardware and software
  • Track and check items against installation or removal instructions
  • Install or remove hardware and software using supplied instructions, tools, and agreed standards
  • Support fellow technicians telephonically using remote tools and customer software packages such as Remedy
  • Drive SLA performance
  • Report to the Ops Manager: Onsite Operations (M/S6)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NQF 4: Grade 12 National Diploma
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in attending to, and installing of, hardware solutions within the Retail Environment
  • COMPTIA certification
  • Microsoft Systems Associate or Engineer (MCSA or MCSE)
  • Linux LPIC (1 and 2), Certified Linux Administrator or CompTIA Linux+
  • Required to travel locally
  • Drivers Licence and Reliable Vehicle - both required
  • Ability to work extended /long hours as and when required
