About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide field-level support to customers and potential new customers using acute urology products and clinical services
  • Travel extensively within the assigned region
  • Provide in-servicing support, product demonstrations, product assessments, and account support
  • Help drive sales revenue in existing accounts and develop new business opportunities
  • Support new account product evaluations and implementations
  • Support the Regional Manager by covering accounts and conducting customer education and product activities
  • Communicate new business opportunities and product interest to the Territory Manager
  • Build and maintain sustainable account relationships
  • Coordinate customer evaluations with field sales and logistics teams
  • Develop clinical knowledge in relevant disease states
  • Develop territory management and selling skills
  • Control expenses and manage resources according to BD guidelines
  • Maintain communication with sales, customer service, sales management, and home office associates
  • Maintain compliance with BD quality and patient-safety policies
  • Complete call reports, monthly results reports, expense reports, and other administrative duties
  • Attend and represent BD at local, regional, and national medical conferences
  • Perform special projects and additional assigned duties
  • Take a proactive approach to vendor credentialing for customer-facing travel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working in a team environment, preferably within a sales environment
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Information gathering, analysis, problem-solving, and independent thinking skills
  • Good judgment and maturity
  • Understanding of basic mathematical processes and numerical information
  • Ability to travel 80%, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the Company
  • Criminal background satisfactory to BD
  • Ability to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including periodic drug screenings with satisfactory results
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination per Company policy/guidelines
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet established deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to balance priorities with minimal direction
  • Vendor credentialing and/or certification in the respective clinical field
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 0 to 2 years of general sales experience
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from healthcare professionals, executives, managers, clients, and customers
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions
