About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support regional and national sales teams with exposure to US healthcare, including laboratory, nursing and physician engagement
  • Complete sales training on the IDS portfolio
  • Protect and grow the Specimen Management portfolio
  • Provide customers with product information, data insights, clinical education and product training
  • Inform customers about pricing, backorder management and company policies
  • Execute comprehensive in-services for Specimen Management products
  • Collaborate with field associates and the Regional Business Manager on sales-call planning and prioritization
  • Manage time and business travel effectively within the assigned geography
  • Develop thorough knowledge of related products
  • Communicate significant changes in customer accounts to field associates and the Regional Business Manager
  • Report customer complaints according to IDS policies and procedures
  • Complete administrative duties associated with the position
  • Cultivate new and existing customers to establish long-term relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1-2 years of outside sales experience or equivalency
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate for and promote to available account representative positions
  • Strong persuasion and influencing skills
  • Good judgment and professional behavior
  • Basic knowledge of Laboratory, Nursing and Medical Device industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with hospital, sales and corporate office personnel
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with 3 years of consecutive driving history
  • Must meet BD’s auto safety standards
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and travel to meet customer needs
