About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate BD’s long-term strategic direction and product portfolio value proposition to customers
  • Become an expert in BD Molecular offerings, including HPV, Vaginal Panel, STI, and Enteric offerings
  • Work with the local BD POD structure to identify and close new accounts and achieve or exceed sales plans
  • Develop and implement regional and strategic account sales plans
  • Call on prospective customers, create demand, communicate medical, clinical, and patient outcome benefits, deliver product demonstrations, and prepare economic models, proposals, and quotes
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans, including customer profiling, targeting, and call schedules
  • Generate leads and sales through state, regional, and national meetings
  • Participate in cross-functional product launch teams
  • Collaborate with Diagnostic Solutions sales team members and marketing product managers
  • Participate in training sessions and demonstrate proficiency
  • Manage expenses, administrative and call reporting, funnel and competitive data, company assets, and OSHA and Universal Lab precautions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ years of inside/outside sales or clinical experience required
  • Self-motivated to succeed and master the complex sales process
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current U.S. healthcare trends
  • Strong organizational, territory management, account assessment, and relationship development skills
  • Willingness to travel 60-75%
  • BA or BS in Life Sciences, Non-Acute, or Point of Care areas preferred
  • 3+ years of medical sales experience preferred
  • Previous experience with Women’s Health, Point of Care, and/or medical marketplace products in complex selling situations highly preferred
