About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct development and maintenance of global and regional sourcing strategies, governance, and tailored vendor bases
  • Oversee creation and execution of sourcing strategies and projects across freight, warehousing and distribution, and supply-chain software and systems
  • Drive improvements in quality, service, total cost, risk management, innovation, and responsible sourcing
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes to sense, model, assess, and inform category markets
  • Co-own BD Scope 3 carbon emissions strategy for product and materials transport
  • Lead global sourcing scope across inbound, intracompany, and outbound materials and products
  • Select, develop, allocate, and evaluate a diverse team of sourcing and analytics professionals
  • Lead stakeholder intake and translate requirements into aligned category strategies across geographies and business segments
  • Guide supplier relationship management, supplier stratification, supplier development, program management, and resource allocation
  • Lead negotiation planning, negotiations, contracting, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation
  • Ensure category strategies, supplier selection, governance, source-to-pay processes, and multi-year roadmaps are developed and executed
  • Drive cross-functional continuous improvement and Procurement Operational Excellence
  • Manage sourcing strategy for more than $800M in annual spend and deliver annual value results
  • Report to the Vice President Procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum ten years professional experience in an international regulated manufactured products environment
  • Approximately 5+ years managing professionals
  • Experience developing effective sourcing strategies for a wide range of categories
  • Procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management experience in manufacturing and/or services environments
  • Understanding of supply markets and macro-economic factors relevant to areas of responsibility
  • Cost management practices
  • Strategic sourcing or category management experience with a history of successful breakthrough strategy development and implementation
  • Supplier value management, supplier development, and continuous improvement experience
  • Supply relationship development
  • Strategic agility, business acumen, and ability to manage complexity
  • Experience working and influencing within a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience hiring and staffing high-performing teams
  • Experience coaching and developing others
  • Strong analytical acumen and comfort with statistical models
  • Ability to foster, develop, and lead inclusive and diverse environments
  • Ability to travel 40%+ domestically and internationally
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Supply Chain operating role or Supply Chain Operations cost/efficiency project experience preferred
