About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data workflows on cloud-based systems
- Propose architecture integrating disparate enterprise data
- Lead multifunctional design sessions to define data requirements and use cases
- Develop and document data movement standards and best practices
- Drive long-term data architecture roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives
- Conduct code and design reviews
- Educate others on modern data engineering concepts and design
- Mentor junior team members
- Participate in agile software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and production support
- Plan and lead engineers delivering features in a fast-paced environment
- Design and build the full software stack with a customer-centric mindset
- Ensure application performance, uptime, scalability, code quality, and application design standards
- Partner with and advise multiple teams on technical solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of experience building large-scale software applications, preferably in healthcare
- 2+ years of experience implementing solutions in AWS
- Experience owning large, complex system architecture
- Hands-on experience crafting and implementing solutions for large-scale systems
- Strong programming experience in Java (must have) and Go
- Experience in unit and integration testing
- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in stream-based and batch processing is a plus
- Experience transitioning from on-premises big data installations to cloud is a plus
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, and data protection is a plus
- Ability to work in-office, with most roles requiring a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week
- For certain roles, sufficient proof of full COVID-19 vaccination may be required
- Strong communication and written skills
