About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Team Leader in operating the sterilization process to ensure quality processing
- Perform backup Team Leader responsibilities as required
- Operate the sterilization process and ancillary equipment
- Move material through all steps of the sterilization process
- Operate material handling equipment
- Document sterilization process steps using established procedures, JD Edwards, and Mfg Pro
- Perform Warehouse Spore Placer functions and post-sterile inspection
- Initiate maintenance work orders when applicable
- Perform user-level preventative maintenance on plant facilities and equipment
- Participate in safety team activities, audits, and operational process improvements
- Train other sterilization personnel
- Receive chemicals into Sterilization
- Supervise nitrogen and ethylene oxide chemical inventory
- Connect and disconnect hazardous chemicals to process equipment
- Assist with monthly departmental performance reports
- Complete other assigned functions and responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Able to operate material handling equipment
- Able to prioritize tasks and workflow, accounting for available time, equipment, and product
- Knowledge of personal computers
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two to 4 years of experience in the operation of equipment and inventory management is desirable
- Self-starter with good logic and reasoning ability
- Ability to define problems and find logical solutions
- Able to apply policies and procedures to work situations and use judgment in selecting appropriate actions
- Ability to use a tight-fitting supplier air respirator
- Must be free of health conditions prohibiting assignment to an ethylene oxide-related area
- Must participate in annual medical surveillance for ethylene oxide exposure
- Able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to work off hours with minimal supervision
