About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales revenue to exceed division priorities
  • Define and develop new business opportunities aligned with company goals
  • Develop key relationships through customer visits, product demonstrations, product in-services, and procedural observation
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, hospital management, and hospital executives
  • Participate in the Field Sales Training program and/or provide services as a Field Sales Trainer
  • Manage the territory with integrity and in accordance with BD's Code of Ethics and applicable policies
  • Meet territory sales and profitability goals
  • Advise customers on products, backorders, order status, pricing, policy changes, and forecasts
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and satisfactorily
  • Maintain knowledge of prices, discounts, product availability, and competition
  • Present, educate, and provide in-services on proper product use to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of BD products, channels, and distribution methods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 Years of proven field sales experience
  • Documentation of successful sales performance is required
  • Comfortable in hospital, office and clinical settings
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, communication, organizational and planning skills and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with internal customers and external customers, including KOLs, surgeons, physicians, and nurses
  • Detailed understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales
  • Must live within assigned region
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards
