About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive sales revenue to exceed established quotas and contest qualifications
- Define and develop sustainable new business opportunities
- Execute clinical assessments, lead roundtable results discussions, and support standard new product implementation programs
- Build and maintain strategic business relationships in key accounts and with BD Clinical Managers
- Perform product demonstrations, customer education, and in-services
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual plans to meet revenue targets
- Maintain excellence in clinical knowledge within relevant disease states
- Maintain excellence in territory management and selling skills
- Deliver sales training to inside and field sales employees and channel partners
- Present sales modules, presentations, workshops, and sales training curriculum
- Control expenses within territory budgets and manage resources according to company guidelines
- Maintain communication with the sales team, customer service, sales management, and home office staff
- Maintain compliance with quality policies and processes, prioritizing patient safety and product quality
- Complete call reports, monthly results reports, and other administrative duties
- Maintain accurate customer and account files
- Attend and represent BD at local, regional, and national medical conferences
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
- Develop customer relationships through routine visits, utilization and contract compliance reviews, product in-services, and procedural observation
- Manage the territory with integrity and in accordance with BD policies, rules, and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BS degree
- Three or more years of sales experience with confirmed sales success
- Strong interpersonal skills in verbal and written communications, customer focus, professionalism, negotiating, mentoring, and team building
- High proficiency in understanding written and verbal information
- Strong listening and personal assessment skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Information gathering, analysis, problem solving, and independent thinking skills
- Basic mathematical skills, including rate, ratio, percent, and bar graphs
- Proficiency with a personal computer, intermediate keyboarding, MS Excel, MS Word, and BD’s sales information systems
- Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, and governmental materials
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from healthcare professionals, executives, managers, clients, and customers
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Frequent travel within the territory
- Graduate degree preferred
- Experience with disposable clinician preference products, capital equipment, and budgeting preferred
