About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze physiological data from HST monitoring devices, including EEG, respiratory signals, and oximetry, to identify sleep stages and respiratory events
  • Interpret sleep architecture, arousal frequency, sleep efficiency, and REM latency to support diagnosis and management of sleep disorders
  • Read, compute, and evaluate statistical metrics from sleep interpretation reports
  • Identify and report pertinent clinical observations from raw data for clinical correlation by the interpreting sleep physician
  • Score assigned HST studies within two business days of receipt, barring technical issues
  • Monitor the scoring queue daily
  • Score HST studies according to the current AASM Scoring Manual
  • Review and edit computer-assisted scoring on an epoch-by-epoch basis
  • Maintain scoring proficiency through the AASM Inter-Scorer Reliability program
  • Troubleshoot sleep monitoring equipment and software issues, escalating as needed
  • Communicate with team members through encrypted email and approved internal platforms
  • Maintain active RPSGT credentials and required state licenses
  • Manage continuing education credits and submit CEU certificates to the Director of Clinical Relations
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Relations, under the guidance of the Medical Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active RPSGT credential in good standing with the BRPT
  • Current license in the District of Columbia, Louisiana, or Delaware
  • Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association or an equivalent provider
  • Current state license where required by the applicable state jurisdiction
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an RPSGT performing in-lab polysomnography
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience analyzing and scoring Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT/HST)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of 30 CEUs within a rolling 36-month period
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, Beacon SV software and related HST scoring procedures
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with consistent follow-through
  • Sound critical thinking and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Secure, reliable, high-speed home internet connection and dedicated HIPAA-compliant workspace
  • Ability to maintain compliance with AASM continuing education requirements
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA, privacy, regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements
