About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end design across onboarding, activation, upsells, expansion, and churn
- Partner with Product and Growth to turn user research, support signals, and product data into design hypotheses
- Design and ship experiments to test hypotheses
- Redesign high-friction funnel moments, including the in-app downgrade flow, trial-to-paid conversion, and first-time activation
- Focus on reducing churn and improving conversion
- Work with senior product designers to maintain beehiiv’s core design language while applying a growth-oriented, test-and-learn approach
- Collaborate directly with engineering to scope design lift and ship iteratively
- Present thinking, rationale, and trade-offs to product and leadership teams
- Incorporate feedback quickly
- Help define a growth design practice from scratch
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a product designer
- Meaningful experience with growth, activation, lifecycle, or monetization surfaces
- Track record of designing for experimentation, including A/B tests and phased rollouts
- Ability to iterate quickly based on quantitative results
- Ability to turn vague, high-stakes problems into crisp, testable design points of view
- Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills
- Ability to explain design rationale and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
- Ability to read and analyze data and develop hypotheses from it
- Prior experience in the newsletter/media/publishing/SaaS industry is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with little direction
- Genuine excitement about scaling a nascent platform

- Comfortable with rapid iteration and frequent context switching
- Able to meet high expectations for speed and quality
