About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide detailed support to the Project Manager
- Create documentation and work with suppliers, the design team, clients, and internal/external resources to support successful project execution
- Attend meetings with clients, suppliers, and external certification bodies
- Develop standard and project-specific production specifications, including material specifications, NDE procedures, quality plans, component data sheets, assembly specifications, and test specifications
- Liaise with the design team
- Ensure compliance with customer quality assurance and technical specifications
- Define scopes of work for subcontracted enquiry packages
- Coordinate invitation-to-tender processes and provide technical support during tender clarifications
- Identify suppliers and manage procurement, expediting, and supplier visits
- Conduct sourcing and sub-supplier evaluation and qualification, including technical, quality, health and safety, and environmental assessments
- Monitor manufacturing activities at sub-suppliers, including kick-off and pre-production meetings, in-process expediting, quality inspections, environmental checks, factory acceptance testing, final inspections, and document reviews
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements at sub-supplier locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Proficiency with Outlook, including electronic calendar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Flexibility and adaptability to prioritise tasks appropriately
- Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience working with sub-suppliers
- Honesty, reliability, and discretion
- Experience in SolidWorks would be beneficial but is not essential
