About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise customers and develop Customer Success processes while driving execution
  • Help customers enhance the value of their Benchling investments
  • Understand customers’ science, business goals, and Benchling deployments
  • Promote best practices and maximize product and Benchling AI adoption
  • Align customer deployments with strategic objectives
  • Analyze customer usage data to uncover patterns, opportunities, and risks
  • Create and execute product telemetry programs to improve adoption, value realization, and business outcomes
  • Serve as a go-to advisor on the Benchling platform, including its AI capabilities, value drivers, and best practices
  • Learn customers’ science, industry trends, and strategic goals
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Professional Services on customer strategies and challenges
  • Drive customer journey mapping and voice-of-customer feedback projects
  • Own and deliver Executive Business Reviews covering value realization, deployment health, customer maturity, and product roadmap alignment
  • Design, test, and launch adoption campaigns
  • Drive deployment health checks, adoption plans, feature campaigns, and digital maturity programs
  • Develop expertise in Benchling product modules, research verticals, or industry areas and deliver customer insights

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS or M.Sc. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or similar Life Science field, OR 2+ years work experience with Life Sciences or Healthcare companies, ideally in a lab or research setting
  • 4+ years of Customer Success, Professional Services, or Consulting experience in a SaaS software environment
  • Ability to forge relationships with users, decision makers, and influential stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and experience leveraging data insights for decision-making, diagnosing customer deployment health, and developing targeted adoption strategies
  • Strong project management skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Hands-on implementation experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Ability to travel 20-30% based on customer needs
  • Experience working with or supporting the Benchling platform preferred
  • Understanding of Life Sciences R&D, process development, or manufacturing processes and scientific concepts preferred
  • Ability to interface with and build trust with practitioners and Director- and VP-level Business and IT leaders in Biotech and Pharma companies preferred
  • Proficiency with CS tool stacks such as Gainsight and Salesforce, analytics/BI tools such as Sigma, and AI tools such as Claude preferred
  • GxP experience or familiarity with validation activities at a life sciences or biotech company and/or vertical SaaS software company preferred
