  • Own infrastructure projects end-to-end from initial design and technical planning through prototype, production rollout, and operational handoff
  • Build and maintain internal applications, APIs, automation, CLIs, Slack apps, serverless services, and AI-powered assistants
  • Own AWS foundation components including Kubernetes/EKS, networking, secrets and PKI, security, and observability
  • Define SLOs, runbooks, and actionable telemetry
  • Operate and improve Terraform Cloud, reusable Terraform modules, and policy-as-code guardrails
  • Build cloud cost visibility and anomaly alerting, allocate shared platform costs, and analyze usage trends
  • Contribute to observability tooling and manage vendor, cost, and performance tradeoffs
  • Make architectural decisions, drive cross-team alignment, and set technical direction and standards
  • Participate in on-call, incident response, blameless postmortems, and root-cause analysis
  • Reduce operational toil based on production learnings
  • Partner with platform users, mentor teammates through design reviews and technical plan feedback, and improve tooling, practices, and engineering processes

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, site reliability, platform, or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in coding, testing, debugging, API design, and system design
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language such as Python, Go, or TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and S3
  • Understanding of compute, storage, networking, and security integration
  • Production experience with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform at meaningful scale
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based platforms
  • Track record of independently scoping and delivering complex, ambiguous, multi-month projects from proposal to production
  • Experience writing technical design documents and communicating tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience making architectural decisions and driving alignment across multiple teams
  • Comfort working across development and operations
  • Ability to diagnose difficult production problems under pressure and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Clear written communication and strong documentation skills
  • Nice-to-have experience with cloud cost management, secrets and PKI infrastructure, AWS networking at scale, internal developer tooling, observability platforms, regulated or multi-region environments, GitOps, policy-as-code, technical leadership or mentoring, and AI-assisted development tools
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in alignment with the hybrid work model
