About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, organize, and track accounting-related transition requirements for hotel transitions and new development projects
- Participate in due diligence for transitioning properties and identify accounting setup requirements
- Identify and communicate required hotel bank accounts and merchant IDs to the PGH Treasury team
- Manage import, conversion, and mapping of historical financial information into Pyramid systems and the company chart of accounts
- Lead income journal mapping for newly transitioned hotels in alignment with USALI and GAAP
- Develop and maintain post-transition property training calendars
- Deliver remote and select on-site training on accounting tools, systems, processes, weekly reporting, and standard operating procedures
- Direct and support transition processes, checklists, and handoffs to Regional Finance leaders
- Partner with CAO, Treasury, Regional Finance, property leadership, and transition stakeholders to stabilize properties
- Identify transition risks, roadblocks, and process gaps and escalate recommended solutions
- Assist with stub-period and pre-opening budgets
- Assist with close-out transition reserves and proration schedules
- Improve transition accounting procedures, documentation, checklists, templates, and training materials
- Travel periodically to select newly transitioned properties for in-person training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of five to seven years of progressive accounting, finance operations, hotel accounting, shared services, or transition-related experience preferred
- Strong understanding of hotel accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, balance sheet support, and monthly close processes
- Working knowledge of USALI and GAAP standards
- Experience supporting property openings, acquisitions, transitions, new developments, and/or system conversions preferred
- Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, reporting tools, Excel, and data mapping or conversion processes
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and stakeholder groups in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel periodically for select hotel training projects
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across CAO, Treasury, Regional Finance, property teams, and transition stakeholders
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and timely execution
- Ability to identify process gaps, recommend practical solutions, and drive accountability through completion
- Strong training and change-management orientation
- Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to work effectively with confidential financial and operational information
