About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for User Identity & Access Management
  • Architect the evolution of the identity platform, including authentication, SSO, and authorization
  • Design secure and scalable identity capabilities on public cloud platforms using Auth0 for human and machine-to-machine clients
  • Use AI-assisted development practices to increase engineering velocity and quality
  • Partner with security teams on zero-trust, least-privilege, and secure-by-design practices
  • Collaborate with product managers to translate business and customer identity requirements into technical specifications
  • Prioritize concurrent deliveries to keep teams aligned and unblocked
  • Mentor senior developers through hands-on examples and constructive feedback
  • Create architectural documentation and promote industry-standard tools
  • Build proofs of concept for new identity access approaches
  • Participate in architectural reviews
  • Report to the Director of Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of scalable software development experience
  • At least 2 years in a technical leadership role driving platform modernization
  • Deep expertise in identity and access management, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and SSO federation
  • Hands-on experience with Auth0 tenant architecture and custom actions
  • Familiarity with Okta, Ping, and SCIM provisioning
  • Strong software architecture skills with an API-first approach, loosely coupled systems, and domain-driven design
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, especially Java and Python
  • Experience with Spring Boot and FastAPI
  • Extensive cloud-native experience across AWS and GCP
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, DevSecOps, and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of threat modeling, least privilege, secrets management, and comprehensive audit logging
  • Experience with domain-driven database design and high-availability, low-latency data access
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to author architecture decision records and influence tool adoption
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced agile environment using AI-led development practices
