About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide in-field technical support within a specific geographical territory
  • Conduct site evaluations and technical specification/proposal writing
  • Assist with technical specification work as needed
  • Resolve major complaints and customer concerns
  • Sell architectural and industrial products in and out of channel
  • Support regional sales directors, area sales managers, territory representatives, and training implementation specialists with regional product training and application sessions
  • Support architectural and design representatives and architectural specification writers with complex specification writing, continuing education classes, and general training of architects and designers
  • Support national account representatives with technical support, specification writing, and prospecting for opportunities within a specific geographic area
  • Cover the Southern Market territory

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ B2B paint and coating sales experience
  • Knowledge of architectural and industrial coatings, market dynamics, and application best practices
  • NACE Certified (complete or in process)
  • Specification writing proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Excellent communication, listening, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to analyze situations and identify obstacles and opportunities
  • Effective problem-solving, time-management, negotiating, and complaint-handling skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team interaction skills
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel overnight for meetings, conferences, and trade shows
  • Must reside in the desired geography or be willing to relocate
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 50% to areas of coverage
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Orlando, Florida, or Lewisville, Texas facility
