About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor incoming quality of containers and container supply areas to ensure uninterrupted filling line operation.
  • Calibrate and properly operate automatic filling machines.
  • Check batch tickets for correct product.
  • Monitor container weights, quality appearance, and drips; retain samples for the control lab.
  • Ensure adequate lid supply and verify lids are properly sealed and information is legible and correct.
  • Ensure adequate correct labels and adhesive; monitor label and container appearance.
  • Maintain proper operation and make minor adjustments to the bail-o-matic machine.
  • Ensure adequate cartons and tape; verify carton information is legible and correct.
  • Supply empty pallets and offload full pallets as appropriate.
  • Accurately count fills and enter data into the terminal for inventory control using electronic information systems.
  • Maintain forklifts and related equipment by checking batteries and electrical hookups.
  • Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines and use required safety equipment.
  • Maintain quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Work with the facility team and all departments, reporting directly to the department Lead.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Basic math skills, ie: addition/subtraction
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and cleanliness.
  • Ability to use company software and computer system programs.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely and follow SOP’s
  • Ability to work overtime (up to 4 hours past regularly scheduled shift) and weekends when required.
  • Ability to operate fill by weight machine, video jet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer and depalletizer.
  • Ability to operate the tower independently
  • Ability to operate a gallon line and quart line independently
  • Ability to operate a gallon line casepacker and five line independently
  • Ability to operate a gallon line and operate a small batch
  • Environmental Factors and exposure throughout shift
  • Ability to use forklift, winch and trolley system
  • Running the filling line and packaging goods is most frequent activity (upwards of 8 hours per day)
